"The Los Angeles Conservation Corps (LACC), based in South Central and East Los Angeles, is one of the largest independent non-profit agencies in the nation. Founded in 1986 by former U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Mickey Kantor, the LACC employs approximately 300 young adults as corpsmembers and 2,200 junior high and high school students annually to serve the greater Los Angeles community through environmental enhancement and community improvement projects."

If you live in Los Angeles, you have seen the Corps at work. I have worked with the LACC for several years. I am truly honored by the association because of the resilience of the corpsmembers.

Bruce Saito, the Executive Director, speaks in a loud voice through his deeds and commitment.

The annual Russell Kantor Scholarship Fund Luncheon and Open House is always a special event. Please check out their web site.
